What Does the School Board Do?

The School Board is the governing body that sets policies, manages the budget, and oversees operations of the public school district in Sumner County.

There is one representative for each of the 11 school board districts in Sumner County. Every two years, elections are held for either the odd or even districts.

Regular Meetings are on the third Tuesday of each month, unless voted otherwise. Special Meetings (votes can be held) or Study Sessions (no votes are held) are scheduled as necessary.

Meetings are open to the public (excluding executive sessions due to potential litigation discussion) and held at 695 East Main Street in Gallatin.
